Meals on Wheels

Senior Nutrition Services provides older adults a nutritious meal, social engagement, and a wellness safety check. We offer more than just a meal; it is a celebration of togetherness. Our goal is to improve quality of life, reduce unnecessary stress, ER visits, hospitalizations and premature institutionalization through our nutrition programs.

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a community-based program, relying on more than 150 volunteers to ensure meals are delivered Monday-Friday throughout Rockingham County.

We have two delivery programs, dependent upon location:

 Inside the City Limits
Hot meals are delivered Monday – Friday before the noontime hour.

Outside the City Limits
Frozen meals program which is delivered by our staff biweekly.

Program Eligibility
In order to qualify for the Meals on Wheels program you must meet the following criteria:

  • Rockingham County resident
  • 60 years of age or older
  • Homebound, with limited ability to leave the home
  • Having trouble with meal preparation
  • Does not have anyone willing or able to provide a noonday meal

As demand for meals increases and the population of older adults grows, we maintain a waiting list for the Meals on Wheels service. Private pay recipients start receiving services immediately and their name is placed on the waiting list for available eligible funding sources.

The ADTS Meals on Wheels program proudly receives funding and support from the United Way of Rockingham County!

Private Pay Meals on Wheels Program
